The 2-and-10 discipleship model
Turning fellowship
into action.
Small Group Concepts gives your church a simple structure for real discipleship, built to be repeated until it starts to multiply on its own.
The idea
Most small groups drift. This one has a shape.
The 2-and-10 model settles the three questions groups usually leave open: who leads, who's in the room, and when it ends. Once those are fixed, any church can run the group, and hand it to the next set of leaders when it's done.
Leaders
Two people share the load, so a group never rests on one person's shoulders.
Disciples
Ten is small enough that everyone is known by name, and enough to send a team out at the end.
Weeks
A real finish line keeps the group focused, and leaves it ready to start again.
The blueprint
Three moves, start to finish.
-
01
Secure the leaders
Every group starts with a committed pair of co-leaders, trained to guide the sessions and carry the work together.
-
02
Gather the group
Bring ten people into a living room, close enough to know each other and to keep each other accountable.
-
03
Run the track
Work through one ten-week track built to move people from listening in the pew to leading in the field.
“The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few.”
Matthew 9:37
The twenty concepts
Twenty ten-week tracks to choose from.
Each track is one ten-week path, grouped into four stages of the journey from new believer to sending leader. Pick where your people are, and start there.
